I'm not taking anyone's side here. I do not know what happened in this situation nor do I know the ref personally but I have watched this ref for years. He is one of the best, if not the best. I cannot tell you how many times I have overheard the same thing being said by other people in the stands too. If he DQ someone he probably had a reason to do it.

any crazy things happen this year?

I saw the asian ref DQ a dudley kid for what looked like nothing.
