Coach Belk does a much better job than me. But I was curious too. So I broke it down like this.

4A- Champs: W-2, MW-6, ME-1, E-5 Overall Placers: W-9, MW-34, ME-21, E-20
3A- Champs: W-3, MW-8, ME-3, E-0 Overall Placers: W-33, MW-28, ME-13, E-10
2A- Champs: W-6, MW-7, ME-0, E-1 Overall Placers: W-40, MW-32, ME-4, E-8

There's a good possibility my math is off but here's what I came up with for 3A state tournament data by region.

The West the most placers with 33. This included 12 finalists (3 champs, 9 runner ups)

The Midwest was second with 28 placers. 10 finalists ( 8 champs, 2 runner ups)

The Mideast was third with 14 placers. 5 finalists (3 champs, 2 runner ups)

The East had 9 placers. 1 finalist (0 champs, 1 runner up)

I'd like to see the numbers too!! 3A ME wasn't very deep but had alot of Champions/Finalists.

4A Midwest had 20 previous State Qualifiers not advance to the state tournament. It will be interesting to see how this region stacks up against others this weekend. This region by numbers alone looks to have been the toughest region to get out of in recent memory. When we do a breakdown of everything after the state tournament it will be interesting to see which regions were the toughest.

Any big surprises from this weekend? Collins (220, UP 3A-ME) was disqualified. Seems like we are missing one Baglio brother from 3A-MW? Travers (113, Britt 4A-ME) won it all from the 16 seed? Sure I am missing a bunch but these really stood out to me.
